Can I come?
Yes! Dogfish readings are free and open to the public. Please join us!
How can I get on the open mic?
We use a lottery system. Fill out a slip of paper and put your name in the hat!
How do you book Dogfish?
The team meets several times a year to talk about writers we’d love to invite to Dogfish. We aim for diversity of genre, culture, and voice. We prize great writing, storytelling, performance, and connection to the community.
Are featured readers paid?
We regret that we do not have funding to pay features.
I have accessibility questions. Who can I contact?
There are no stairs to enter the house, but there are three internal stairs to access the main room, bathrooms, and kitchen. Most of our readings are acoustic and not amplified. Available seating includes couches, armchairs, and folding chairs. If you have any questions or requests, please email us. Everyone is welcome, and we want you to join us!
Can I bring my children?
Of course, with the note that you know your children better than we do! You’re welcome to bring along a relatively quiet baby, toddler, or young reader that you think would enjoy the evening. Readings may include adult content.
Should I bring anything?
We provide beer, wine, and light snacks, but you are always welcome to bring food or drink to share.
How is Dogfish funded?
Dogfish is an all-volunteer effort. The producers pay out of pocket for expenses. We have tip jars at the bar and the snack table.
Is there a place for featured readers to sell books?
Features are welcome to bring merchandise to sell. We have Square readers available for your use, and Dogfish does not take a percentage of any sales.
